Monsoon Alert: Follow These Safety Guidelines

With the arrival of the monsoon season, the risk of waterborne diseases like gastroenteritis, cholera, and diarrhea increases. In this regard, the Bharat Speaks 24×7 urges the public to follow these important precautions to stay safe and healthy:

1. Drink only safe water – Use boiled water, chlorinated water, or tap water provided by the Jal Shakti Department.

2. If you are using water from springs, wells, or other open sources, boil it for at least 5 minutes after it starts boiling.

3. Clean your household water tanks regularly to prevent bacteria and dirt build-up.

4. Avoid stale or uncovered food. Wash fruits and vegetables properly before eating.

5. Maintain hygiene – always wash your hands with soap before eating and after using the toilet.

6. Dispose of waste properly to keep water sources and surroundings clean.

7. Ensure cleanliness and avoid open defecation to prevent the spread of diseases.

8. If you experience symptoms like diarrhea, vomiting, or stomach pain, visit the nearest health center immediately.

9. If you suspect water contamination or leakage in pipelines, inform the Jal Shakti Department immediately for quick action.

10. Get your water source tested at authorized water testing labs available in the district.

The public is requested to remain alert and strictly follow these health guidelines. Let’s work together to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases during the monsoon.
