Funeral and Condolences

The funeral prayers, or Nimaz-e-Jinaza, were conducted at the Markazi Jamia Masjid Batingo Sopore on Wednesday night, attended by numerous locals who gathered to pay their respects. Following his passing, countless individuals visited the Bhat home to extend their condolences to the grieving family.

Former Union Minister Prof. Saifuddin Soz spoke of his Fond memories with Prof Bhat, highlighting their close relationship that spanned decades. “Prof Abdul Gani was a person who embodied kindness and understanding, making him deeply beloved,” Soz remarked.

“Even in political disagreements, he remained cheerful and accommodating,” he continued.

Chowdry Mohammad Ramzan, a longtime associate and former minister, also shared heartfelt memories of Bhat. “He was not just my teacher during my graduation years; he was an inspiring figure who influenced many lives,” said Ramzan.

Ramzan added, “Prof Bhat was a bright mind, a humble person, and a good human being who will be sorely missed. May Allah grant him eternal peace.”
