1. Stampede at RCB victory celebration kills 11 people. Those who fell couldn’t get up and suffered fatal injuries to head, spine, and abdomen.
2. Stadium had capacity for only 35,000, but around 3 lakh people showed up. CM Siddaramaiah said: “We didn’t expect such a crowd.” Families of the deceased will get ₹10 lakh compensation.
3. PM Modi expressed grief over the incident. BJP criticized the Congress government for mismanagement.
4. Caste census to start in October 2026 in four states: Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Uttarakhand. Other states to follow from March 1, 2027.
