Jammu Police and BSF Conduct Search Operation Ahead of Independence Day

In a bid to bolster security ahead of Independence Day, Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), launched a significant search operation near the International Border in Jammu. The operation, which unfolded on Sunday evening, included a thorough inspection of designated areas under the jurisdiction of Arnia Police Station.

The cordon-and-search exercise initiated around 6 PM and lasted for approximately two hours. According to a police spokesman, the operation specifically targeted regions including Aik Nallah and Kool Kalan, which have drawn attention for their proximity to the International Border.

During the meticulous search, security personnel assessed around fifteen houses and ‘kullas’ or shacks in the vicinity. This proactive measure constituted part of routine area domination and surveillance tactics aimed at ensuring public safety as the nation readies for the national celebration.Police spokesperson indicated that such initiatives are essential in maintaining safety and advised the community to remain vigilant.

Officials confirmed that the situation remained stable throughout the duration of the operation, with no incidents reported. Such joint security efforts illustrate the ongoing commitment of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and BSF to safeguard the border regions and reassure residents ahead of national events.

This operation reflects broader security policies being implemented consistently in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly during sensitive periods like Independence Day. As August 15 approaches, the region will likely see continued vigilance and security upgrades.
