Delhi Police Arrest Two Wanted Criminals Linked to Foreign Gangsters

The Delhi Police made a significant breakthrough on October 13, 2023, by arresting two wanted criminals linked to foreign-based gangsters in an encounter in the Kapashera area. The accused, identified as Akash Rajput and Mahipal, are both residents of Rajasthan and are implicated in serious criminal activities across multiple states.

Rajput, the more notorious of the two, faced numerous charges related to extortion and kidnapping incidents across Haryana, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. The Rajasthan Police had announced a ₹20,000 bounty for information leading to his arrest due to his violent history.

An officer from the Delhi Police stated that Rajput’s criminal exploits include being a key player in a July 2022 firing incident outside a hospital in Assandh, Karnal. This attack reportedly occurred under the direction of the infamous gangster Daler Kotia. Rajput also garnered attention for his involvement in a July 2025 abduction case in Gujarat, where another gangster, Kirit Singh Jhala, demanded a massive ₹100 crore ransom.

Further investigations revealed that Jhala had recently allied himself with other well-known gangsters such as Rohit Godara, Goldy Brar, and Virender Charan, forming a formidable criminal syndicate.

Mahipal, on the other hand, had previously faced charges in the Karnal firing case but was released on bail before re-engaging in criminal activities. Both individuals had escaped law enforcement until this major operation.

During the encounter, Rajput suffered a bullet wound to the lower body before the police successfully overpowered him. Officers promptly transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police assured the public that a thorough investigation is ongoing to uncover more details regarding the duo’s criminal network and any additional accomplices.

This arrest highlights the ongoing efforts by Delhi Police to crack down on organized crime linked to foreign gangsters, which poses a persistent threat to public safety.
