Chief Minister Omar Abdullah conducted an early morning tour of Srinagar on Wednesday, inspecting major development projects and reviewing key civic works. This visit aimed to assess urban infrastructure improvements and enhance public services for the residents of Srinagar.
The chief minister’s office shared insights from the extensive tour on X, highlighting its importance in evaluating public facilities and ensuring the effectiveness of ongoing initiatives. The focus on urban development reflects the commitment to enhance living standards in the city.

During the inspection, CM Abdullah visited several sites, notably the proposed bridge at Barbar Shah. According to the chief minister’s office, “Once completed, the bridge will play a vital role in reducing traffic congestion for commuters heading into Shehar-e-Khaas, ensuring smoother transit and improved urban mobility.” This infrastructure project is crucial for easing traffic flow and enhancing connectivity.

Additionally, the chief minister inspected the newly upgraded Maharaj Gunj Urban Primary Health Centre. This facility embodies a blend of modern healthcare infrastructure while honoring the area’s rich historical character. The CM’s office emphasized that this upgrade will significantly strengthen patient care and healthcare delivery in the heart of ‘Shehar-e-Khaas’, addressing the medical needs of residents in this vital area.
Accompanying Chief Minister Abdullah were Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Ministers, MLAs, and CM’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, along with senior officials.
