Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and other government officials, Abdullah conducted his tour early in the morning to evaluate public facilities.
The chief minister’s office shared insights through a post on X, indicating that this extensive survey targeted public services significance amidst ongoing construction projects. “Our goal is to modernize infrastructure while respecting the city’s unique characteristics,” the post stated.
Among the sites visited was the proposed bridge at Barbar Shah. Abdullah highlighted its importance, stating, “Once completed, this bridge will play a vital role in reducing traffic congestion for commuters heading into Shehar-e-Khaas, ensuring smoother transit and improved urban mobility.” This initiative aligns with the government’s objective to enhance connectivity within urban spaces of Srinagar.
Moreover, Abdullah reviewed the progress at the newly constructed Maharaj Gunj Urban Primary Health Centre. This facility integrates modern healthcare capabilities while preserving the region’s rich historical backdrop. The CM’s office noted, “The upgraded health centre will significantly strengthen patient care and healthcare delivery in the heart of Shehar-e-Khaas.” Initiatives like this one are critical for advancing healthcare accessibility and service quality in densely populated areas.
In addition to the inspection of transportation and health facilities, Abdullah encouraged the officials to expedite the completion of all civic improvement projects related to urban infrastructure. “Prioritizing these developments will greatly benefit the residents of the city and enhance their quality of life,” he remarked.
The inspection received significant attention as citizens expressed their hopes for better facilities. Citizens reported a high level of anticipation regarding enhancements to public health and transport systems, understanding their critical impact on daily life.
Accompanying the Chief Minister were Ministers, MLAs, CM’s Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, and senior officials, all of whom participated actively in discussions about the prospective benefits of the inspected projects.
